Pain and Suffering are probably the greatest teachers of personal development, but the real reason why they are the greatest teachers is not what they actually teach you but the fact that once you have learnt what you needed to have learnt with them they don’t want to see you again.

They don’t want devotees, they don’t want a following, they in fact just want you to be happy, in love and at One with yourself and the Universe.

However, it seems that many pilgrims of Life seem to think that since Pain and Suffering are such great teachers that they should indeed spend their entire lives devoted to them and in service of them - but however noble such a desire is it means that your are a poor devotee who doesn’t understand the teachings of your Great Teacher.

Just as a side thought - there is no special medal you get at the end of your life just because you have been a devotee of Pain and Suffering - no one gives you a big hug just because you’ve had a hard and miserable life.

No one tells you how well you’ve done - considering what a hard life you have lived. So please learn what they are teaching you - and please respect them as teachers - their greatest hope is that they will never see you again - so move on - and acquire new Great Teachers - those of Love, Oneness and Happiness - these are indeed worth being a devotee of.
